The story behind the world I'm creating involves a network of rift nodes connecting my world to numerous other ones around the galaxy, allowing the world to be inhabited by migrants from various planets.
I use this connection at various points, including when it was originally used, allowing humans and others to migrate there and begin their own branch of evolution before it was abandoned and shut down for nearly destroying the race. After that, it's activated several times in the several thousand years of this story, resulting in flooding a third of the planet, invasions, ect. to ultimately destroying the world in the end.
The part I start getting uneasy about is the idea of another machine used by a female protagonist to go back in time so she can save her family from numerous catastrophes initially caused by her and the Rift.
Is this the epitome of dankness, or just a generally stupid idea?
