I don't think I'd recommend any computer grammar checker. They all have some use and they all miss things. None of them can ever take the place of a good editor.

No, you're right about the editor. But at the same time, when it comes to forum posts, and getting some of the broader issues it is really helpful and is also instructive. I have been improving every day I use it. It isn't a replacement but it is damn helpful for folks like me that never really "mastered" the rules of grammar.

You can't accomplish that when your writing is rife with grammatical errors.

This thread has turned into a conversation about grammar in creative writing, which is fine. However, originally it was made by a new member who refused to conform to the site guidelines regarding proper grammar in forum posts.

I only mention that to draw a clear line on where expectations are enforced. In your creative writing, you may do whatever you like, of course.
