I see what all of you are saying and actually thought about how my meaning could get misunderstood in such a fashion.
What my intention was which one you prefer as an overall theme. I see that there is no way to write a (good) Big Evil story without there being a number of smaller undercurrents...
Which do you prefer? to read? to write?
if you don't know my definitions are
Little e - Evil as found within the hearts of humans. Such as lust for power driving a man to murder.
Big E - Evil as an entity. Satan, Demons, other world creatures, ETC
I think that I prefer reading Big E...
I am about 4k words into my current WIP(I know I write slow) and something feels off.
It feels as if everything I am doing in it leads nowhere at all. I mean I know where the story is headed and so I know what the little subtle clues(at least i hope they're subtle) mean and where they will lead...
1. FF XII - I admit that Vaan may be the worst MC to ever grace a FF title but the rest is amazing. the scope of the world, the politics and the battle system were all top class. plus the game had the best side quests of any FF game.
2. FF VII - Classic, great story, great characters, great...

When I...
For me I think that ADD is going to be a problem when it comes to trying to finish my story. When I create my stories I tend to move quickly from one to the next without finishing the first one, every time I get a good idea I just want to make something from it and my older stuff I tend to...
thanks that clears things up a bit for me.
should I always assume that the reader has not read any work of mine that is related to the current story? I mean as long as it is not a direct sequel to the other work.
How much should be explained when writing a stand-alone side story to a much larger tale?
What I am currently working on is a small side story and is after a few important events in the main story, events that would necessarily explain how my world works in general and my "magic" is quite...
Hello there everyone
I am new to writing stories but read a great deal and have made up stories in my head for years for my own personal enjoyment. I have now decided to write out a short(er) story from one of my settings half to see for myself if I can finish something like this and half to...
