Content Ratings

Discussion in 'Ask the Staff' started by Meg the Healer, Feb 27, 2011.

  1. I'm not sure how much this would be used (or used correctly) but I have a suggestion of Content Rating. I know some of my writings tend to have more "mature" content and I know I could always put a disclaimer within the posting that this is not rated "E" for everyone.

But I was wondering if there was a way to add it to the title.

Like if for example one piece that I have up is Glow. If in the title I wrote Glow - Rated L/S would people know that it meant - mild language and sexual situations?

I know we have some younger members in our community and I just don't want to feel as if I'm part of the corruption of our youth. I know we see it on TV, Movies, and Video Games now and I'd hate to have it done to books - but there some instances when I think it may be necessary.

For now I think it would do well enough to just describe the more graphic content in larger or emboldened text before your work is pasted. For extra precaution, use a general rating on the title, if you wish.

Thank you for making the suggestion. It would be a good idea for all members to adhere to this.

That's OK. You can always change your name to Meg the Corrupter. ;)
