Have you ever 'swooned' for a fictional character?

Or whatever the guy version of that is called ?

If memory served it has happened to me a few times during puberty ages (for obvious reasons) but past those years I don't recall any serious times like that.

Most of them are pretty silly ones (April O Niel for example) but I don't think I ever found myself wishing they were real. (I've always been in the I don't wish they were real, but 100% if they were I'd hang with them)

These days there are TONS of characters (Including my own) that I'd want to just hang out with? But like, not that many I'd get romantically involved with. A lot of the fictional characters I do like are like, slightly high energy types, for some reason.

Oh, goodness yes. I was given Dragonflight at the age of nine and I never stood a chance. I've got a very long list of literary hotness, and I add to it all the time. And I will admit to the utter delight of readers saying one of our guys has been added to their lists. It's making a connection with the reader across the page.

Swooning for me is not limited to protagonists. In fact, it's worse, and I know a legion of readers who cheerfully debate each other about some psychopath's inner workings and their hidden vulnerabilities. It's pure candy.

And I am so incredibly not the only one who would turn Evil Princess if the right character wiggled a finger at me. lol

I think this may have reached epidemic levels of swoon, as seen below.

Heh I don't think my 'swooning' would be quite to that level haha
There are a handful of characters who I'd absolutely do 'things' with
BUT
I don't think many of them are all that naughty. At least I don't think so ? I suppose a super christian could somehow twist cuddling and watching horror movies as 'naughty' because of the content of those movies but ? lol I mean one of my characters has plenty of potions with some uhhh interesting effects.
but most of them are temporary. (and if they're not she typically has an antidote already baked so why not)

No, never. By the time I was old enough to get those feelings I was also old enough to start dating the young ladies I met. There was one exception though: Suzi Quatro. She was the one rock singer I had the hots for.

Unfortunately by that time my social anxiety was at it's peak, medicines (that also cover other personality stuff) have helped in recent years but during those years I was already not super social to begin with. So I just retreated into video games and movies for the most part...
I only ever really bonded with one girl in my high school class and before I could do anything about it she happened to move away :/
Nothing stopping me from looking for a girl now but I feel like I have too many 'nerdy' interests to be datable lol (Never mind being disabled also)

Our alpha reader has swooned over our Winter Mulcahy and will fight anyone who doesn't treat her nicely. She's "his woman" and I love it.

We have a huge cast and only three books out so far - but not for long - but we've already seen character teams building. So far the title of Book Boyfriend is held by Etienne Knight, our faerie knight in tarnished armor and owner of a potty mouth of epic proportions. He's just fun to watch. This is a wee bit from the next Book of Binding, and it makes me smile. lol I love all of our guys, even Jeremy who has inspired more than one reader to tell me they wanted to rip his nuts off - that's the quote. They are all a hot mess, and it's wonderful!

Alerich sat on the end of the big bed, red socks in hand, and watched Etienne actually fail at putting on clothes. Alerich fought the smile that was creeping into the corners of his mouth, but he knew it was a fight he would lose soon.

Etienne burst into an explosion of searing profanity, skipping both titillating and whisper-inducing obscenities entirely to go right for the gold. In six languages that Alerich could discern, too, probably so no one would feel left out.

Alerich’s brows twitched up a little, impressed. “Do you need help, Etienne?” It was like talking to a bear. A real bear. No eye contact, focus on locking down the boots, be neutral. Exactly the way Winter told him to.

“No.” It came out as a growl and Etienne whipped the silver silk tie from around his neck and flung it back into the wardrobe. “Fuck it, I’m just not wearing one.” He unbuttoned the collar of his cream-colored silk shirt and then one more down, looking at his reflection. Finally, he nodded, mostly to himself, and reached for his brush to smooth out his shoulder-length auburn hair, mussed by his battle with the tie.

I've had a 15 year long attraction to Alucard [the Castlevania one, not the Hellsing one], and there's plenty of other pretty androgynous characters that I like, but that's as far as it goes. Hang out and bake desserts for them? Admire them? Absolutely. But I don't want to date any of them.

Alucard is a great choice, lots of dedication in that one hehe
I think my first when I was a teen was Princess Peach for some reason lol
(at least until the internet was...the internet)
