It's still ancient technology, so it's important:

One of my characters uses this as a defense for an ancient royal artifact being...an inhaler.
Neither the Lamia that put out the bounty to retrieve the artifact nor her Lied about either. It's still an ancient artifact belonging to the Lamia Royals...
At the end of the day I just thought it would be a funny note to end the chapter on. One of those 'cue the goofy laugh at the end of the episode' moments.

It is technology, and it is Ancient...

But I mean....inhaler...yep...

(Ok fine it's a Magic/Science inhaler that doesn't break, but my point still stands lol)

I am not sure inhalers are ancient... Do you mean the spritz bottle the asthmatics use?

Ancient stuff is still effective, if one was to need it. I can still rub two sticks together and get a fire. I just would prefer a different method.

This is a fantasy setting set in the far future of our time. So either way the inhaler as a concept would be 'ancient' (both in our world and theirs)
For them the invention (Well the magical version) was invented (literal) ages ago, to cure the condition for the Lamia.
These days they have more practical healing magic, so magical tech like that isn't as common. There's still a lot of things (Like Stoves for example) But this world is more magical focused. There is some technology but super advanced stuff is uncommon enough to be considered an archeological discovery.
