Thread to talk about things in movies/books/games that confuse you but have to happen because plot.
Role Playing Games: Protagonist gets to 'loot' random stranger's house/stuff (sometimes with them watching it happen) without being chastised or arrested. (Only game I've seen this not happen in is Skyrim and Fallout) despite it's nature. I've only ever seen it parodied once or twice.
Also Role Playing Games: Male Protag is 'fought over' by two/three girls in the party because why not. This is often parodied and I fully understand why, used to happen a lot in older games.
Horror Films: Otherwise intelligent protagonist hears scary sound in spooky buildings/whatever, abandon's all survival instinct and goes TOWARD the sound. (This is even worse in games) Some games make fun of this by tying an 'ending' to the protagonist just up and leaving at the start. I do know why this happens, but it amuses me still.
Spy Films: It's 'that' time in the plot, gotta have the male and female lead being 'romantic' for about 10 minutes. (I don't mind it but some instances I am genuinely puzzled why it's there)
