So does anyone know any websites where I can find art?

I'm talking of fictional characters, Original or Otherwise. Though I'm more interested in original characters these days than fanart.

A website I frequent and am 'loyal' to, has been overrun by 'artists' using Novel AI and similar tools to create their 'art'

And while I disagree with the use of AI, some of the 'art' is in line with what I'm looking for ? But it bugs me that they're trying to sell it as their 'own' work. At the very least they tell the viewer that they use AI tools to generate the art but it's still annoying.

I will admit one thing, my "taste" has changed recently. I've found myself liking art depicting the kind of characters I like in normal ways / clothes than well, 'art' if that makes sense.

Despite my obvious 'interest' in a certain, uh, style of drawing a female character. I'm leaning more and more toward family friendly depictions.

There are some 'known' websites where I can find the kind of characters I like. But um, let's just say it's pretty infamous for...'art' if...that makes any sense. (I'm trying to keep the context obvious while being family friendly)

Ai is pretty much everywhere i would know. Some use it and say so and some dont. I think you will just have to know ppl.

DeviantArt is a good place. They let you sell your work, and don't mind how much self-promotion you do. Categories on the tool bar are pretty much endless. I can always find the right place for my own art, but don't bother trying to sell it.

How long has it been since you went to Deviant Art ?
Recently it's been swarmed by people using Novel AI and similar tools to create 'art'
It used to be fairly good with tons of real artists but since AI became 'acceptable' there it's been flooded.
I'm not sure how many 'real' artists are left on the platform at this point.

I've been there for about 4 months, having noticed that traditional landscape art like mine gets a high volume of likes, where the flashy AI stuff doesn't fare as well. There's also a lot of content that looks like it was done by children. When it comes to fantasy characters, mine also outscore the AI type; I suppose people prefer actual art to letting a program do it for you. True--there's too much AI content.

Yep, I think DA is 'targeting' me with AI art in suggestions because I favorited a few?
But I wish it would learn or that I could teach it that I favorited those because of the character design and not the fact that it's AI. I do agree that human generated art is leagues above AI art even if AI is getting 'better' lately. AI is really good at making the style of female character I like, but I'd like to find some actual artists that make that kind of character. (Won't go into detail but I like 'shapely' fictional characters, like Jessica Rabbit and some others)

I am Kind of torn on how to respond to AI artists. On one hand, you have the ones who refused to admit they used it. On the Other, you have the ones that admit out the gate that they used it (And somehow that makes it 'ok' to them ? Personally I don't mind since they're owning up to it, but AI is still dumb. ) and further still you have the ones who openly state they used AI art then make wild claims like the art was 'generated' by them. lol

I think the AI women with their puffy lips all look the same. There's no soul, no personality. The backgrounds are good for ideas, though. I might one day use it to see what it does for my own characters, who are mostly based on people I know. That's a separate thread topic, but my friends like how I 'enhance' them and turn them into fantasy super heroes. I've noticed the reticence about owning up as well; a painting that only a highly experienced artist could make, but it's a little too perfect not to suspect AI. For those, I'll award a badge rather than a like. It's hard to be certain anymore.

The AI I've seen seems to be, decent, but yeah. Seems to get fixated on poofy lips for some tools. lol For Anthromorphic characters it's kind of a mixed bag.

Some of them look decent and some of them look hilariously bad. I've seen some examples of both. Like brother if you're going to 'sell' AI art at least sell the half decent results and not the 'slop' lol

Novel AI is still an AI tool, but the stuff from it seems alright, I'm not going to go around calling what it makes actual art. But compared to other AI tools. It's generally pretty good at what you tell it to do. I've never used it because it's a paid one.

And yes I've noticed that AI is surprisingly good at backgrounds. Although sometimes it gets confused on scale of the character. One image had a character walking through town but she was a giant.

Let's add women with three hands, and American troops in WW2 carrying M16s.
Hey now, I love a (well designed) lady with four arms. Think of the possibilities! /silly

But yeah, I seen that haha. I think the problem with AI is that it doesn't have any 'context' ?
Like, you punch in a bunch of prompts (no detail, just prompts) and it just GOES. It's no surprise that it's pretty bad at making art. It's gotten a SMIDGE better (Particularly the Paid ones) but it's still fairly easy to tell it's AI.

What I find interesting is that it actively avoids accurate depictions of copyrighted characters.
Tell it to draw 'Link from legend of zelda in a tuxedo at a wedding' and you get some random buff guy with link's hair lol
