Four books/series that I read repeatedly as a teen: Dune (probably my most-read book), The Four Lords of the Diamond tetralogy by Jack L. Chalker, The War Against the Chtorr series by David Gerrold, and the Myth Adventures series by Robert Lynn Asprin. I still pick up the M.A. books every so many years to read it again.
But for the little influences...Definitely movies. Television. Anime. I also have been a fan of Marvel and DC most of my life, starting with the comics when very young and now with the movies–although more w/ Marvel than DC movies lately, and always a little more influenced by Marvel comics than DC comics.
