What is your worlds stance on lgbtq folks?

because of their masculine warrior culture
Funny thing is that this is also a very western view on masculine warrior culture, and you could easily have the reverse be true. In ancient Greece, you had places like Sparta and the Sacred Band of Thebes where homosexuality was common and / or encouraged to some degree.

I based it on the toxic masculinity / warrior attitudes I've encountered among many Pacific Island men in my home town here in New Zealand. But it would not take much to change it as Tahitians have both a masculine culture and an acceptance of LGBT+ people.

The main nation of my main world is puritanical - divorces are hard to get, though nobles of both sexes often have affairs. Gays and lesbians are technically illegal. Still, I do have one prominent lesbian character. (A high-ranking noblewoman and war hero.)

Outside of that nation, matters are far less rigid.
What about socially? in your world is it common and not talked about, or is it something people keep hidden because of how others would judge them on top of it being illegal.

Depends on where you live in the Solarian Empire, along with your social status. In the more conservative provinces, being Gay comes with a death penalty...for commoners. Elsewhere, Gays and Lesbians are tolerated.

The main lesbian in the 'Empire' series is a formidable female warrior of noble rank who was once an officer in an all-female legion. People ignored her orientation, though in the books she enters into an arranged marriage for 'show.'
