Now and then, some really improbably and unbelievable things occur. When doing the "Today in History" mail I do for work I came across this incident from 43 years ago (yes, they had TV back then).
1970 — The Oregon Highway Division attempts to destroy a rotting beached Sperm whale with explosives, leading to the now infamous "exploding whale" incident.
