Chapter Three: A Dream of Visions

En route for Tormal Island, the Mary Jane wades forward through the rocky waves of the great Sea of Legends. The crescent moon shines high surrounded by many sparkling stars, as Nessa, Captain Taylor’s right hand steers the ship behind the wheel. Down below in the crew’s quarters Damien and his comrades rest with in hanging hammocks, all soundly fast asleep. Sleeping near Damien was his dear friend Evelyn Scarlett who was deeply sleeping and entering a dream like no other. One that feels real with in her grasp.

Looking out before her eyes Evelyn gazes on on field of rolling hills and flowers with the city of Torman just behind. She witnesses taurans gracefully enjoying running in herds, satyr men chasing nymphs, and even dwarves sitting on logs sharing stories, drinking and playing music with the company of elves talking animals and skinwalkers. Gryphons and dragons soar together over head, looping and diving in play. She finds Damien riding on a luvian horse with his sisters, Bredan cuddling up with a pregnant Razlyn under a lonely tree, Brute, Rhodes and Marat enjoying a game of javelin throws, and the scarecrow Gary sitting upong a large boulder reading a book. Evelyn smiles wide seeing that all was good in the world. As she watches the dream suddenly changes, the field was still present though it was not a peaceful setting but a day of war.

Many fight on the field, trolls, ogres, goblins, wild men, armored children wearing silver and grey furred ranger outfit fighting against men, women who wore the armor of Torman, gold and red with the symbol of the grypon upon the breastplates, woodland elves and dwarves fight with them, as well as monkey people on the back of pegesi, and eagle men in armor. Taurans also fight on both sides as blood paints in spurts on the field.

Evelyn’s eyes widen as tears begin to fill her eyes. She sees Dorlius in the distance fighting a large ogre, Rumla pouncing upon the back of a jackle humanoid creature, and many others she knew well fighting for their lives. As the fight continues the skies begin to darken, and rain begins to pour over the lands and the city of Torman. The shift of events change dramatically again like a flash of memories sweeping pass by her as now she was in a dark tower like room where faded moonlight shines from above. There she was imprisoned with in a oversize iron birdcage, hanging with in the room by large chains. Looking about she finds many others in cages all around her. Fairies, dwarves, gnomes, elves, minotaur, and satyr. Below she sees a group of orcs surrounding two whipping post where a white orc and a reptilian creature whip two individuals. Two in which Evelyn knew well. Bredan Silverleaf the Woodland Elf, and Dorlius Greybeard of Torman. In the distance upon a dark dais sat a three dark thrones. One large throne centered made entire of skulls and skeletons, while the others were of black iron made by the orc. Sitting upon the right throne was a cloaked dark figure wearing clade iron gauntlets on its hands and iron boots upon its feet. Sitting in the left throne was Argon the Dark Elf who Evelyn knew of immediately after her time seeing him in the Rakasha temple. Last was the center throne where a young man sat with a pale skin face under a dark hooded cloak. His eyes were dark with flames of blue sparking from them. Tilting her head she gazed at the young man, it was a shock to her when she noticed that it was Damien. Evelyn drops to her knees as she weeps tears of sadness down her cheeks.

As she stares light of flames flashed behind the throne as a large figure approaches. The humanoid figure stood larger than a Sky Giant, with large bat like wings on it’s back, large spiral horns upon its large wolf like head, while razor sharp boar like tusk protrude out of it’s wolf jaw. It’s eyes burned red like the flames of fire, and it puffs smoke from its snout. This creature was a monster in all forms with four large long clawed hands, cloven bowed legged feet, a long arrow tipped tail, and covered in thick black fur. Evelyn knew who it was and couldn’t bare to look the Demon king into his eyes as fear covered her like a blanket.

Dropping her gaze from the demon king back to Damien she finds him smiling widely, a wicked smile as the Dark Three bow before him at his feet along with a large three headed dragon of terror, and a large woodland grey skin giant.

Feeling hopeless for a moment, Evelyn grips the cage’s bars and sobs when a bright light flashes in her face. The light was overly powerful that she could not see anything before her. Only a white blanket of nothing.

“What is this?!” Evelyn cries out with a shout.

The light blinks away as the young girl now stood upon a green hill over looking a moor. There the sun shined with warmth, and the terrain showed beauty of wild flowers, a flowing sparking spring, a waterfall that poured with in a pool, and trees of great bright colors. With in the moors were many figures, pixies mostly but also brown feathered owls with pale human faces, cheribs, nymphs, dryads, fearie dragons, gryphons, birds known as fwoopers, graphorns, and many other wonderful species. But the one species Evelyn noticed were humanoid creatures with large bird like wings, spiral horns and lion like tails. As she stood there looking at the sight before her she wondered, “Why? Where am I?”

“Patience my child. Answers you will know soon enough.” a female voice answers Evelyn.

Turning her head Evelyn finds herself not alone on the hill but instead with one of the humanoid creatures with bird wings on her back. This particular one though seemed a little different than the others she witnessed. She stood six feet tall, with Indian copper skin, black long flowing hair, brown eyes, pointy ears, and a flawless complexion. In addition she had a lion’s tail, large black corkscrew horns on her head, and a vibrant tropical rainbow wings that drag the ground behind her. She wore a tropical rainbow dress of reds, yellows, blues and greens, with brown sandals. A long wooden wizard’s staff that the branches corkscrew upwards where it flares out holding a large clear orb was in her hand and a short elven sword attached to her hip.

“Who are you?” Evelyn asks.

“I am the Grand Fairy Queen Rayn, and I have news for you Lady Scarlet. You are special and like me you will show great light.” the fae grand fairy states.

“What do you mean?” Evelyn asks.

“You are the light Evelyn Scarlet. The light that will shine bright upon the battlefield of good verses evil. The light that will give the power to defeat the Dark Lord of Shadows.” Rayn comments.

I don’t understand. I am just a girl.” Evelyn states.

“As Damien is just a boy right? Perhaps you doubt of who you really are Lady Scarlet. Perhaps you seek clarification, and a rebirth.” Rayn sighs with a smile, “Once you return to your city, come and find me and I will show you the way of your true path my keeper of the light.”

“But how do I find you? Where do I go?” Evelyn asks.

“Hmmm…my young lady I will send one to guide you to me. Be patient and keep to the light.” Rayn smiles to Evelyn.

Evelyn looks over at the grand fae fairy who smiles at her. A single tear runs down her cheek as the fairy slowly vanishes as does her surroundings. Suddenly Evelyn stood in complete darkness all alone. A single beam of light shines down upon her.

“Faith, love and kindness will be your guide my child. Keep to those words and you shall prosper greatly as the Vessel of Pure Light.”

Evelyn smiles and opens her eyes, waking up to the snoring of the heir of Granderhill. Looking over at Damien, Evelyn lays there in her hammock, Ming all cuddled up tightly against her.

“Oh my dear Damien, the prophecy is true.” Evelyn sighs and whispers to herself watching Damien sleep. “What is to happen for here? Will these visions in my dream come to play or are they just a figment of my imagination? Will you turn against us and join the Dark King or will you join me and become one with the prophecy?”
