A random question:

So I wasn't sure where it would be best to post something like this, so here we go. I have been searching for ways to make money as a writer outside of publishing my novel that I'm working on. I've looked into freelance writing and such, but I have no idea where to start, or if it's even worth it. I have grown tired of working the same retail 9-5 grind though, and would really like to at least do some work that involves my passion. As a community of writers, I figured that maybe some of you have either tried this or have looked into it. Is there any tips or tricks that you can name? What are your experiences with this kind of work? Is it worth it in the end? Any thoughts would be very appreciated. As I said, I have absolutely no clue where to start.

Hi. Have you considered doing ghostwriting? I did that for a while and did pretty all right for myself. Upwork is the best place to do this. The clients I had were professional, polite and reliable. The site is also easy to navigate. You'll just need to have samples of the work you'd like to do: so that could be writing fiction, copywriting, etc...whatever type of service you'd like to offer just make sure it's the ONLY thing you're offering. For example, I wrote historical and paranormal/erotic romance for a bit to pay the bills. The paranormal wasn't my favorite thing but at least I got to write about werewolves. If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me. :) Good luck.

Thanks for the tip! I'll probably be taking you up on the PM, I definitely would love to know more :)
