Amateur author here

I’m a fairly new amateur author, and I know very little about the industry, so to speak. Basically, my wife used to make me tell her stories to help her fall asleep. It was a pain, so I started writing them down in advance.

My wife said they were good, so I turned one into a book. I tried to get it traditionally published for a bit but heard nothing, so I self-published it. Then I wrote a second one and self-published that, and I’m a third of the way through book three.

I draw my own covers as best I can, and I’m terrible with technology, which is fun.

Anyway, I wanted to chat with other people about writing and the whole world of it all, but Facebook and Reddit etc. are confusing. I was looking for an old-school forum like the ones I grew up with, and Google sent me here.

So yeah, hello everyone. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Wahey, maybe I can cut the word amateur then. Although if you saw me trying to draw my covers on the backs of bank statements and swearing at KDP all night while uploading them, you might change your mind.
