Australians?

Looks great so far (the site). Not sure how to make a post to go under a category, or how to set an avatar/signature, though! :)

Fixed Jess! Thanks for the post -- I hadn't set forum permissions.

I've also done some tweaking. You can now add a signature (just click on your top right hand corner profile name/avatar and add the text to the 'signature' box).

You can also add a link to an avatar, so it's not quite as good as uploading your own, but should still work. Just type in the URL to your preferred avatar (again it's in your profile).

cheers

I just sent a request to join the page. Sounds like a fantastic idea.

Hi Rob,

Not sure if Jamber/Jennie is still running the page. There wasn't any interest (except from me!) - seems Aussies are few and far between...

Join the Mythic Scribes Australia group for now - if I get time in the near future, I might drag Jennie into co-opening another Australian writing site.

Also, welcome to Mythic :)

Thanks for the welcome. I only chanced myself by this site tonight after hitting a writers block. I had to scrap a 122 page story I had done, just because I felt it's structure was a little weak (and 122 pages was a bit much for the first action to start). I'm glad I found this website, though. It would be nice to compare some thoughts and give and receive some opinions.

Hi Rob,

I know how you feel, I've scrapped entire plots with hundreds of pages as well. I've kept all the writing for reference, but it still stings a lot. I hope you can find what you are after here. The Showcase forums are great for people wanting feedback. There are some published authors around who can share experiences, be it in publication or writing craft. You can also commission artists for cover work/concept art, as well as freelance editors. Plus get feedback on ideas, world building, characters and setting/creatures/magic systems etc.

See you around the boards! :)

Hi Rob, and welcome.
I'm happy to reopen Ozebooks if anyone wants to talk there -- Mythic Scribes is great, but of course it's very northern hemisphere, while in Australia we face a lot of really particular problems (e.g. to write for a global market we need to deAustralianise).
As long as nobody minds Ozebooks being really low key for a while -- and you're most welcome to drum up membership -- I'd love it if you joined.
cheers
Jennie
