She belongs to a religious cult of huntresses who worship a goddess named Oshozi. When her older sister Adaeze gets gored by a Triceratops, Nzinga wants to find the gateway to the Underworld so she can bring her back to life.
I've put a bit more thought into this character's design than I usually do. Those lines on her forehead are supposed to be scars that were cut into her as part of an initiation rite testing her toughness. Her loincloth functions as protection for her genitals, but due to the hot climate of her home country she wears no other clothing. Her green paint functions as camouflage in the jungle vegetation.
