This original story is a dark fantasy saga that expands the Witcher universe by introducing a cosmic curse, ultimate betrayal, and time-altering power. It’s a tale about the catastrophic consequence of sacrificing love for power.
Season 1: The Origin of the Curse
I. The Deep Root of Betrayal
The series begins in antiquity, revealing the alliance between Humans and Elves was broken by the Elven sorceress, Lara Dorren. Driven by ambition and influenced by the malevolent Deathless Mother, Lara betrayed her people, using Elven blood for dark magic. This act enslaved her race and culminated in her murdering her own Human husband. A Magician Queen then cursed Lara: her descendant, Ciri, would be born with unstoppable power, but her life would be one of constant pain and perpetual pursuit.
II. The Chosen One and The Hunt
* Ciri's Birth triggers a cosmic earthquake, alerting the terrifying riders of the Wild Hunt to her power.
* The Witchers, sworn protectors of Ciri's family, are destroyed in the ensuing war. A dying Geralt's father passes Ciri to Geralt, binding him by the Law of Surprise to protect her.
* Geralt flees with Ciri into a deep forest, now a dark settlement of the few surviving, angry Elves. They are trapped by the Elves, only to be freed by the powerful, enslaved sorceress, Yennefer, who joins their desperate flight.
III. The Climactic Sacrifice
* The Rift: When the Wild Hunt corner them, Ciri screams in fear, ripping open a dimensional portal that unleashes an army of monsters onto Earth.
* The Final Task: To close the rift, Geralt must retrieve the Golden Hair of the Deathless Mother. He finds her holding Jaskier captive. Geralt defeats the Mother and snatches the hair.
* The Price: The Deathless Mother's soul transfers into Geralt's body. Yennefer uses the hair to seal the portal, sacrificing all her magical powers in the process. Geralt awakens and destroys the Mother’s soul within him.
* Season End: The door is closed, and the threat is ended, but Yennefer is powerless, and Geralt and Ciri are on the run, still hunted by the remnants of the Wild Hunt.
Season 2: The Ultimate Reset
Theme: The true cost of power and the sacrifice required for a happy ending.
I. The Broken Sanctuary and The Elven Extinction
* The Betrayal: While Ciri trains and Geralt and Yennefer try to find peace, Giant Monster Eagles seize Ciri and Jaskier. Geralt falls into an Elven hideout where the leader, Francesca, reveals that Yennefer betrayed them all for power, reopening the portal and trading Ciri to the Eagles.
* The Genocide: When Yennefer arrives, she ruthlessly murders Francesca, officially wiping out the entire Elven race in a final, tragic act of retribution. Geralt leaves Yennefer behind, setting off alone for the Eagles’ Planet.
II. The Last Stand and The Impossible Quest
* Lone War: Geralt fights fiercely on the Eagles’ Planet but is defeated. Ciri screams again, opening a rift, through which Yennefer arrives with a magical army. They destroy the Eagles’ Planet together.
* The Cure: A dying Black Magician reveals Ciri’s curse has only two cures: Universal destruction, or killing the 10,000-foot Crocodile, which holds the cursed blood of Lara Dorren.
* The Final Mission: Geralt and Yennefer begin a quest to collect magical hair from witches across planets to forge the ultimate sword for the Crocodile hunt. During this quest, Yennefer is killed, leaving Geralt heartbroken and driven by rage.
III. The Ultimate Sacrifice and The Reset
* The Final Betrayal: At the Hell Guard planet, Jaskier is revealed to be Ciri’s true father and the ultimate villain. He murders the Crocodile (preventing Ciri's cure) and then kills Geralt.
* The Universe's End: Overcome by the death of her love, Ciri unleashes a final, universe-destroying scream.
* The Intervention: A Fairy appears, destroying Ciri's curse and reversing time. Ciri is sent back to the past, free from the curse.
* Season 2 Concludes: Ciri is reborn into a peaceful timeline. The final shot is the joyous wedding of Geralt and Yennefer, achieving the happy ending earned through sacrifice.
