Word Count Per Chapter?

So for two of my stories, they're going to be proper Novels. Two of them will be games where a lot of the stuff is visual.
I don't particularly aim around 'word counts' as it feels too restrictive?
What happens for me, weirdly is file size. Most of my chapters feel 'done' at around 35 KB (for shorter ones) and 45 KB for the longer ones.
It's weird, it doesn't matter what kind of story either.
My brain just decides that the chapter is finished around that mark.

It happens. Somehow, my word count per chapter always ends up roughly around 2500 words (though it's been sliding upwards with each progressive novel somehow...). It's apparently the size of chapters my brain comes up with.

The positive thing is that it lets me roughly estimate how long a novel will end up being when I've created the outline. 30 chapters at 2500 words gives a 75k novel. That sort of thing.

Most of my attempts have been novellas. So chapter count is determined by scale of the book. To contrast this, the chapters are roughly not at all the same, because I plan out the text but have no rough estimate. This means there is no way to predict the outcome of the plot or storyline either. Reaching the ending for me, is not calculating a product, but finishing a quota.
