Anyone on here checking out Hytale?

20 $ Minimum for an Early access Minecraft-Like (Made by developers / creators of a VERY good and Super Well Known Minecraft Server and was in development hell for a bit and ALMOST got cancelled straight up until said developers saved it) seems like a lot, but I've been enjoying it so far.

Early Game Grind is a bit of a grind but I imagine that'll change once the project moves further along. Right now it's in very very early access stage with not a lot to do.

What got me interested is in contrast to Mine Craft, they have plans for a Proper 'RPG' like story mode with quests and maybe even an actual plot.

On-line games have never been an interest of mine.
The nearest I got was to set up virtual class rooms in Second Life.
The project fizzled out due to lack of interest.
That was many, many, many years ago.
As for RPGs. I'm still a fan of table tops, figures and paper notes.

I asked my son about this. He said that while many of the minecraft updates have been disappointing, he was unlikely to get into Hytale. My guess is there are too many other games to play. He did say he still does play minecraft at times.

I'm mostly checking it out cause I'm curious what the developers will bring to the table.
I'm crossing my fingers it becomes some healthy competition for MC because nothing spurs inspiration than a good rival.
My only complaint so far is how some of the things are very 'early access'-y right now. But the stuff I'm checking out has been fun.
