I have one character that quotes lines from 30s-40s detective movies. He thinks he's Philip Marlowe and Sam Spade
The quote I'm proudest of slipping passed people is "What do you want me to do, learn to stutter?" [he was accused of giving glib easy answers - it got him beaten up]
