Hello,

I am a storyteller. I've been writing snippets of fantastical stories for over a decade, and have started compiling said writings into a world of my creation.

... And suddenly my lack of knowledge on subjects like linguistics, cartography, and the workings of a galleon threw the wooden, lever operated brakes to my momentum.

How far do I delve into these infinite subjects?

In my search for answers, I have stumbled across this, a hive of kindred spirits.

I look forward to everyone's assistance, and hope to provide what little insight i have to this group as well.

I started the other way around, building a world, and then eventually writing little stories about the people in it.

You've found a great place to start exploring your world though. If there's something you're wondering about, just post a question somewhere. You may not get the answer you're looking for but someone's bound to give you some kind of answer, raising all kinds of other questions and in the end you'll have learned a whole lot of things you had no idea you didn't know.

...or well, that's how it's been for me.
