Hello all! I'm new to the scene of novel-crafting (unless you count the dark days of fanfiction.net in my teen years). Escapism is my passion, I'm sure many creatives can relate. Fantasy and sci-fi are my go-to sections at the bookstore. I lean heavily towards themes of deconstructing organized religion and the nuances of deities in various cultures. As of recent I've been doing a lot of research on the Egyptian pantheon for worldbuilding purposes. I also love diving into the human psyche within my narrative, especially the effects of religious extremism and spiritual psychosis.
I am a perfectionist to an agonizing degree, and have crippling ADHD. I cannot seem to get through the first draft of my story without going back and editing everything at a line-level every time I open the document. It can be exhausting and time consuming.
I am super excited for my current project, which has morphed in several ways from it's original idea but has so much potential to address the complexities of religion, sex-work, and apartheid. I am also super excited to learn from and bounce ideas off of other writers in the fantasy community!
