How do you remove work from the Showcase

I guess it's a case of weighing benefits and costs.

I think it's extremely unlikely a publisher would check out critique forums. My only fear would be if the publisher was out for dinner with writers one of whom had read, or heard a friend had read a piece of the novel they were considering for publication, and worse thought it was terrible. Very unlikely. But then there is such a thing as very bad luck.

Thanks for the links Black Dragon. It's encouraging to hear that most publishers encourage writers to post and critique online. It's definitely a good way of improving both your work and critiquing skills.

Methinks that scenario is so unlikely as to enter the realm of statistical impossibility.

The benefits to receiving critiques on your work, and in fact the benefits you receive in being prepared to let other see it, far outweigh the infinitesimal chances of something bad resulting from it. To put it bluntly: it is a silly, empty fear. Cast it off. :)
