Looking for Accountability Partner(s)

Hi everyone,

I've already written and published one book, and now, I'm in the initial drafting phase for the second book in that series.

While I'll definitely be looking for drafting partners later in the process, I'm really just trying to produce right now.

Would anybody be interested in logging daily or twice-weekly progress with me?

I find it helps me to plug my numbers into an app called TrackerBear, but also to celebrate ongoing progress with my fellow writers.

I have my own thread in Writers Work, where i post updates on my progress, including words written. Several others do the same. I use mine not just to update how many words I have gotten on page, but also my experiences with the publishing industry as a whole. So does ThinkerX , and some others. My thought was that it would one day also be useful to others, but I suspect most people are not interested in reading it from post 1 to current, so...mileage may be limited.

You are welcome to do the same. I need to update mine, as I did not recently. I am on Book 5, and about 10K words in. I am shooting for 200K, so 5% done.

I will do that, but I think I'm looking for something more like a partner or small circle of partners for a daily accountability check-in sort of thing.

Maybe it's different in these forums, but in the past, posting to a writer's journal has felt more impersonal--kind of like shouting into a void.

Congrats on all of those books. That's very inspiring to hear. Can you PM me a title, so I can check out your work?

Hi Gran,

I feel I am too slow to try and keep a pace with someone. So, I would suck at some type of app for it. But, I do make a lot of noise while I am active cause I like others to see that dedication to the project pays off.

Awesome! I'll check it out. And I get it about the pace. I'm just the kind of person who works better if there's a little challenge to it.
