And faithful to my bad habits I "only one more" book. This time its "The First Holstein-Schleswig War 1848-1850" by Nick Svendsen. Its part of the "From Musket to Maxim 1815-1914" series which I'm a bit curious about. So this is a kind of test to see if the series is any good and worth something in the future.

It fell right into my sweetspot for magic and fantasy. I felt the way he connected and managed the timeloop was inspired 👌

I just read (borrowed, not bought) a Hebrew Fantasy novel, Kharashta, "Witch" in Aramaic. It is based on "Jewish Mythology", though most of what is in there is really Persian/Zoroastriam mythology that was absorbed into Jewish culture during the Sassinian Empire. The head demon is Asmodeus, also starring Lilith, Lot's wife (pillar of salt) and many more... Very original, plot is good. I didn't like the writing that much.

There are many good reasons to learn Hebrew, but this is not one of them.

I've been purchasing quite a few fiction novels as of late, as I want 2026 to be a major fiction reading year for me. I've noticed my reading interests have strayed from non-fiction, since I already read a bunch for work.

Recently purchased books include two novels by the Provencal author Jean Giono, one novella by Stanislaw Lem whose Solaris I adore, and "Under the Glacier" by Halldór Laxness.
