My name is Skip Knox. I am a historian by trade, as well as a web programmer, who has been writing all his life. Recently I decided that I wanted to move beyond being just a guy who wrote to being a writer. I got serious and started building and last year got my first publication in an online magazine.

I have discovered this and other online writing communities, and have been struck by how great an investment of time they represent, but also how great a return they offer. So I have been gradually joining in. I won't be a fully-participating member until summer, because that's when I retire, but I wanted to start looking in now. I have to say, I really like what I have found here at Mythic Scribes, especially since historical fantasy is my field.

I'll save other details for my profile. Here I simply want to say that I'm delighted to have found this community and look forward to sharing and helping.

Welcome to the scribes. I'm glad you're breaking out and taking chances. This is a pretty excellent place to find support, whether it be questions about writing, locating crit partners or just participating in the games for extra experience and a good time.

Everyone here is friendly and helpful. Glad to have another historian in our midst. I might hit you up for chat sometime. I'm a historical costumer, actually Picture 10 of 18 from Costumes . Nothing too intense, but that's my first obsession. :) No really, this place is pretty great and the folks are really nice. It's nice to have you.

I hope I will prove to be so. We can be awfully fussy sometimes, and while we have all sorts of interesting information, it rarely extends to being able to identify the footwear of a 13thc Cistercian monk. ;-)
