New to forum

So this is my first fantasy forum. I'm going by the name of the main character in the literary fantasy (don't laugh, it's true, it's a thing) book I am writing called The Choosing. I want to get deeper into the fantasy world of literature, so I know my own genre better. I don't know how I ended up writing a fantasy novel when that has not been my main genre ever. It's just what came to me. I look forward to learning a lot through the forum here.

Welcome to the Scribes. I couldn't help notice the strong Arabic influence of your handle. Was that intentional? Do you write in a world influenced by Arabic culture?

African, actually, but I'm finding out that East Africa and the Arabic world have a great deal of crossover.
