Potential problem with my fictional planets name?

So I don't know if this is a real problem or if I'm just over thinking or something.
But I found out that the name I was gonig to use for a new planet in my fictional universe is actually the name of an Italian motorcycle company.
I wanted a name that sounded exotic but was still actually pronounceable, not sure how I came up with the name "Vespa" But it sounded cool.
I looked it up to see if it was a real word and if it meant anything interesting, and its that Italian motorcycle company...
So should I just get another name or is it ok to use that one? I already have it mentioned in my visual novel and a short story.

Vespa is just Italian for wasp so from a legal standpoint you're fine. Whether you're okay with any Italian speakers knowing your planet as planet Wasp is another matter.

We have a planetoid named Vesta. While i do know what a vespa scooter is, i’d not be shocked if there was also a planet which shared the name.

You’ve never heard of Vespa? They are a mod staple. I’m not sure I would use it for those reasons. They’re VERY well known here at least in the UK, and we wouldn’t think that it’s just Italian for wasp. I personally would rename.

Nope, never heard of them until I looked up the word. I honestly thought I had invented the word vespa.
I guess here in America those little scooters aren't popular.
I'm still considering renaming, not sure what name to use.

But I wanted to suggest to you that you could keep the name in the phonic sense. Like Vess Pah, Ve Spaa, Vespa, etc. I hope this helps and good luck with your work.

I think that as long as you enjoy it, it doesn't infringe on anyone, and you truly believe your readers will like it then just go with what you feel is right. I like to sometimes give subtle jabs at names in my stories, like I have a character who is a detective and their cat's name is Cherloch.

Be warned vesla means "little" in Norwegian, sorry, but as you may know that saying, "There's nothing new under the sun.", so just go with what you like. Good luck, fellow writer.

Oh thats interesting, this planet is supposed to be somewhat smaller then earth.
