Reading group?

Does anyone here participate in reading groups?
Such as everyone reading the same novel on their own and discussing each chapter once a week or something like that?

I have tried in the past, but I am too slow to really keep up. I've rarely seen this survive more than just a single novel, but....maybe.

But, I have always been bad at group things.

It SOUNDS like a good idea, I'm pretty extroverted and typically love that sort of thing, but the problem is there's a lot of stuff, particularly thats popular right now, that I just have no interest in reading.
And I tend to be hyper opinionated about stuff.
I've found with reading it's best for me to stay in my own eccentric, hyperactive, omnivorous-but-picky lane.
