Ok, here goes! :bookworm:  Five POVs in the end. Moved the others to Book Two.

1. Title: none yet

2. Genre: Grimdark, multiple POVs

3. Blurb: (early version)
Hatred between two brothers threatens to drag the kingdoms of Antar and Nordar into yet another war.

A political alliance is forged to prevent escalation, but a risen from the dead enemy chieftain is once again gathering Zesuhua-riders in the south. And even within the borders of great Antar itself powerful noblemen challenge King Dominic's reign.

Cities are in turmoil as its upcoming citizens threaten to upset the old and familiar balance of power.

And the source of the mysterious supernatural disasters that plague the continent remains unknown.

So, some say the world is about to end...

As for Nur, he doesn't know how, but he really wants to start fixing things. A lost knight in search of redemption, his plan is to re-enter the service of his liege lord King Dominic to make up for past mistakes.

At the same time a hastily married off princess is trying very hard to navigate the new direction her life is taking

A grey witch vies for the highest office in the Realm of the Dead. But so is her nemesis.

Up North a headstrong executioner is coerced into a plot to murder a powerful nobleman.

And a naieve fifteen year-old student at the university somehow winds up in the middle of an old feud.

Wha, that sounds awesome. I especially love the promise of rearisen chieftains and witches in the underworld. But the whole of it sounds like a wonderful intrigue. Good luck! Thanks for posting :D

Now, I'd like to hear from everyone who's been writing a novel this month: What's the top thing you think you've learned so far in November, or what's the most fun/interesting thing you've experienced during the challenge?
Hmm... Interesting question. Not sure what the top thing I've learned is, must the most fun part has definitely been having a community of people all cheering each other on. I really think it makes all the difference. :giggle:
oh gosh no, 105k words throughout the year, i think i has been exactly one year or more since the start :D
That's still amazing though! That's an entire novel's worth of words in only a year. 😁
but this challenge is cool, started doing the daily word count of minimum 500 :)
That's what I think I'm going to go for after November.
That's a tough one! Can you give us another hint, for example a first letter ? 🦉
First letter of the book... G

This blurb is AMAZING!!! I cannot wait to hear more! It sounds just like the kind of fantasy I love to read!

NaNo Vlog Day 17:

TLDW:

Daily Word Count:
3,209 words
Total Word Count: 34,728 words

Random question... Would anybody be able to help me come up with ideas for Gods? I need 100 different Gods and I need a different method of offering for each of them. Example:

1. God of Death: Human sacrifice killed at the altar.
2. God of Life: Pregnant woman gives birth on the altar.
3. God of War: Two people fighting on the altar.
4. God of Peace: Children dancing around the altar.

Basically, every God represents something different and every God needs a different offering. I have a few ideas but I don't have nearly enough.

Thanks everyone 🙏 ! Though still a long way to go your encouragement means a lot to me. And I agree that the sense of community present here is a blessing. Reading these regular progress updates really helps to propel me forward.

First letter of the book... G
Ah, that narrows down our options. Fun, though. Could it then be... Game of Thrones?

Some ideas: God of travelers, God of the Seas, God of Storms. Maybe some professions have their own Gods such as blacksmiths and hunters and healers?
God of Secrets and misschief

A god of every domesticated and important wild animal?

It is not Game of Thrones. 😁

God of Secrets and misschief
These are some good ideas but I'm not sure what would be given as an offering to these Gods. 🤔
A god of every domesticated and important wild animal?
Well that could take up all 100 of the Gods. 😝

I have just passed 30K and now I get to open up my 30K reward! It is a book... It is a fantasy... It is the first book in a series that is considered by many to be the greatest fantasy series of all time... See if you can guess what it is! ^_^
30K?
Fantasy?
First in a series?
Greatest series of all time?
Starts with G?

No idea....

Not sure of any that have a word count like that, less is brothers grimm tales, or goosebumps :) Is Gormenghast that short? Would that be anyone's fav?

I'll go with pmm'g's, the Eye of Ebon, only you got a lot of the details wrong ;)

Just want to clarify that the book isn't 30K words. The book is my reward to myself for writing 30K words. 😝

When I first saw the thumbnail before watching the video I thought you lost 800 words as in you lost the actual words, not the wordcount lol Fortunately that wasn't the case, because at least for me, if I accidentally lose or delete part of my story it's never the same when I rewrite it and I lose all my motivation to continue. I still remember when a computer full of non-backed-up files died and I lost a couple full-length novels, several books in progress, and about two dozen story ideas in one fell swoop. Never got them back. At least they weren't that good.

That's why I work in Google Docs now 😅 and download to multiple computers on a regular basis and email the files for good measure.

That is the saddest story I ever heard! 😭

Update: 106.015 words and still writing, 349 pages(+4).
Nearing the end, can't wait to see how it resolves.
Disclaimer: my style of writing is that i have a general storyline, but even I don't know how everything will end...I like to think of it when I write, it is like a textual game of multiple choices; what the character do affects the storyline.
Update: 107.000 words
started the twenty first chapter, the army is camping outside of Wildtown, preparing for a siege, but it is tougher than they thought. The chieftains are debating whether to break a hole in the ramparts, or build ladders, or starve the enemy. The third option will take months, so we shall see how they proceed...

Well...I dont know that I learned anything special in november, unless its that adding a new cat to the house takes a lot of work. Everyday, I pop out new words, everyday, I hope they are good and help get me to where the story needs to go, and everyday, I am surprised that it just keeps building. I am greatly pleased to have a system that is working, and getting more words on page. But, I am very much looking forward to the coarse adjustment of the first edit.

I've made up a lot of names, and studied a bit Hopi Indians, as well as many other tribes. My current tribal community is kind of nebulous, but I am sure they will become tightened down by the end.

Most fun, showing a dark side to my character, and some of the stuff I did for research.
Most interesting? Well...bringing goats back into the story. I did not know I would ever tie back to those but....I am feeling an Easter egg type of effect now that may carry over several books.

NaNoWriMo Vlog Day 20:

Today I went to my writing group in the morning and read a little bit of my interactive fiction novel. The group really seemed to enjoy so that made me very happy. Then I went to work and when I got home I didn't have much free time, so I barely wrote anything at all.

Daily Word Count: 488

Total Word Count: 40,163

Not a lot of words, but I am still very happy, because now I get to open up my 40K reward! This reward is something that I have really wanted for a very long time and I cannot tell you how happy I am now that I have it! ^_^

My story is not kind to goats, I am afraid. But...they did reoccur. I may make them a theme of sorts before publishing them all.
