This is a really great speech, where Sanderson is able to articulate something that I've been circling for months. It's heavy craft stuff, so I'm putting it in here.
Thank you.
Besides writing, he made me think about music. Even without AI: Why do people learn and play musical instruments? They can hear professional recorded versions whenever they want, and have been able to for a few genrations now. Yet people take piano or guitar lessons. Because of what it does to them.
I was unaware of Mr. Sanderson's dislike of AI, but I am happy to have him in the same camp.
I can sum this up as, AI makes you not matter, strive to matter. <--I wonder if someone has been saying this.
I will also add again my usual statements.
For those thinking about it: If you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss gazes back into you.
For those using it: If I know you are using AI, I will not help you.
