Telltale's Game of Thrones

I'm wondering if anyone here has played Telltale's Game of Thrones. I've personally found the first two episodes of the season gripping.

The game follows the TV show's canon. You play as a few members of House Forrester, who were sworn to the Starks during the War of the Five Kings. The story and characters have been really good for the short amount of time each episode last.

Haven't played the second episode yet but loved the first one. Soon as the mandatory overtime's done I'm picking it up cause the ending to the first episode floored me.

I watched Cry's playthrough of it before watching season 4 of Game of Thrones. Sansa's and Mira's stories got mixed up in my brain. I had to untangle them a bit.

Yeah, the one thing I'm not overly fond of is how closely some of the Forrester's character arcs mirror those of the Starks. On the other hand, the arcs are starting to move in their own directions after the third episode of the game.

I finished this game awhile back, played all six episodes, and found it compelling for this style of video game. I don't know how you would call it, a choice-based action-adventure? Whatever you want to call it, I enjoyed it, as I am a big Game of Thrones fan, and liked learning about a lesser house within George RR Martin's world. Has anyone heard talk or rumors of a season two? The way it ended, I could see a second season, but I could also see them just leaving it at that. Sorry for the vagueness, I don't want to ruin the ending for anyone who hasn't played, but wants to, or is still playing.

I'm pretty sure Telltale confirmed there would be another season.

I've played all six episodes in their entirety and, no spoilers, but while the quality of the storytelling is pretty good I didn't feel like it justified the price. Partly because, in my opinion, you have no truly meaningful choices. But mostly because I was vexed by the ending. The game doesn't tell a complete story, as you would expect, but instead hands you a depressing cliffhanger ending to bait you into buying the next "season". It's clear they intend to milk this series as long as the show itself continues, and I'm having none of it. I'm not buying season 2. If I can ever be bothered to care what happens to the characters, I'll just watch let's plays on youtube instead. Sequel baiting can be done right (Dragon Age and Mass Effect for example), but the game has to work as a stand-alone before I'll consider giving a sequel the time of day. Telltale's Game of Thrones fails in that respect. And since it seems all their games follow the same format, I don't think I'll buy any of their other work either. Episodic stories in gaming is a huge turn-off for me now.

Also, quick-time events are kinda boring.
