World Anvil

As a worldbuilding tool, I haven't used this website much. For anyone who has, I was thinking of getting some starting tips.

Anyway, its a free website and everyone can see your settings there. Its kinda cool and I recommend you guys check it out.

It seems very comprehensive, but I am loathed to put ideas on to the interweb for someone/thing else to hold if I can avoid doing so.
Yes I know that is SOOOO 20th century thinking, but I only gave up using a fountain pen in the 1990s.

Yeah, that is, in fact, the initial reason I did not start a wiki for my settings. Add to this that anyone can edit the pages.

Okay... That is the killer for me. As a writer [ahem] I can't have other people changing my world,. What if they make it better and I end up using their ideas? I'm probably never going to be worth suing for a share of the royalties but confusion will reign never the less.
I mean on wiki, not on World Anvil. World Anvil isn't editable.

You can configure wiki pages to be editable by the public, edited by specific accounts, or closed entirely.

Fountain pens? I still use them and love them. So many ink colors! And they're easier on arthritic hands.

I wanted to like World Anvil, but so many of the places are mainly empty shells, I soon gave up on it.
