IstarYes I mean where people who want to be/are writers publish there stuff online. On substack I follow people who are into my specific interest in a certain area and some of them publish (or whatever you want to call it when a piece on substack has been put up for people to read) essay size articles there and most of them are pretty good, some are actually really good. But none of it is fantasy. It would be very nice to read shorter pieces, maybe shapters, by someone who writes online. How do you mean?
Are you looking for places where you can publish your own novel and where you don't need to pay to publish?
Or are you looking for free novels that other people have published?
For the first, all the major platforms do this. You don't have to pay to publish your novel via Amazon or Draft2Digital or Kobo or the other major online stores. If you publish your physical book via Ingram Spark then there's an upfront cost I think. Something around $25.
If you are looking for the second, then I think there are plenty of indie authors who have their first novel in a series free. Again on places like Kobo and sometimes Amazon. There are also libraries. Just keep in mind that it takes a lot of work to write a novel and there can be plenty of costs involved (like for covers and editing) in publishing a book. So do consider paying authors.
IstarI asked for where people do it so I can read, not where I can do it myself. If there is some place more dedicated to fantasy, or some keyword or something to use in for exampke substack to find fantasy stories. There's various sites where you can do so
Myth WeaverYes pleaseThe initial post sounds like its asking for where he can find a list of the work we have all put out, and to that, I can say I am not aware of any list that the members here have been using to post up their works. Many of us have them, and you can find them usually by following links in their siggys.
Many place have lists though, Good reads has many of them. And just looking on the internet for a list of fantasy titles will certainly produce many. There are literally thousands and thousands of them.
But if you want a list from our members I can post my book up. Always looking for reviews.
Myth WeaverLooks nice. I like it when you can recognize some themes, because when someone wants to make something totally new the writer has to be really good and the reader as well to not just get confused. My Book can be found below. I am currently, and hastily trying to get book 2 out the door.
The Eye of Ebon
Troubadour
TroubadourWattPad is one option, and it's free. It does have a lot of cringe/strange/disturbing fan fiction and stories, but at least your stories would be out in the public. And again, it's free.Is there a list somewhere of where people from here or other places or just real people have posted their novels, like substack accounts or wherever people publish there stuff for free? (For free is awesome, comeon)
Thanks. I looked at the other two and I get very much a teenage app-feeling. It srrms very hard to find good fantasy to read. With a proper book there are at least a publisher or editor that types down on the back what the book is about.Inkitt is another option besides Royal Road and Wattpad. You can find a lot of free fantasy stories there.
SageWell you are looking for free entertainment. There's bound to be some added advantage that paid-for options offer ^.^It srrms very hard to find good fantasy to read. With a proper book there are at least a publisher or editor that types down on the back what the book is about.
