Naruzeldamaster
Auror
She read about something somewhat crazy online.
Apparently there's a new VR headset that you can (apparently) control with your mind.
Personally I can see why she's paranoid, but also ? I would have told her if I was playing such games? I'm far more happy if she was just up front about the concern instead of trying to be 'stealthy' about it. We're all adults after all. I feel she has every right to be concerned but also I didn't even know that shit existed.
There's a reason there's so many movies/anime about this "technology" going pear shaped (I view them as cautionary tales) so I'm not going to put much stock in it. Nor do I intend to try it, since VR period makes me motion sick when I'm the one viewing it. (oddly watching it in a 2D video doesn't do it, it's only when I'm the one on the headset) The only VR game I would want to try is that Beat Saber game which is a Rhythm game that doubles as a cardio work out.
I also told her I have a very specific tolerance for certain kinds of content, violence or otherwise. That my tolerance is different than theirs. And if anything made me uncomfy I wouldn't play it/watch it.
I did also mention that my 'tastes' are certainly different than theirs (They should know that by now and/or respect it) but regardless. I do have a limit, even when it comes to my [ahem] guilty pleasure that I've mentioned a few times here. (I didn't mention my guilty pleasure to her, safe to assume they know about it already but they probably don't understand why I like it.)
