Good News Everyone!

Nice, man! Keep at it!
Sounds like you’ve got some good momentum going.

Just keep an eye on burnout while you’re pushing for that end-of-year goal. Sometimes taking a week off and missing a self-imposed deadline is much better than forcing yourself through it and killing your enthusiasm for the project, haha.

Good luck with Act 2!

Act 2 is a fair bit more meaty (they go to three of the 8 continents and resolve some national issues / help the local god regain followers) but I haven't decided how long it'll be. I am not trying to 'finish' before the end of the year but I want to be as close as I can be. My end goal is to get either finished or near finished so I can start next year off strong. If I DO finish this year, it'll be my first properly finished story since high school lol

I am not blitzing down 300 pages a night lol I'm writing a little bit each night (at about the same time of night) for around 30-120 minutes. Granted I don't make the same amount of progress in each writing session. I'm working on consistantly writing each night. I've Ceased my previous routine of switching up projects I'm working on between chapters. So that has helped with progress tremendously.

The story that I'm working on is the longer of the two so I'd like to see it 'finished' first.

I had something of an epiphany with my wip thanks to 3 beta readers on scribophile and a comment on here somewhere about writing tricky scenes from the POV of each person in it to see how it alters the scene's impact.
It means a major reconstruction with a shift in balance of plot / world building v characterisation, to a more character driven work, but with the elements of character, world and plot more integrated.
I hope to get through the changes over a month or three, then repeat the beta read cycle, we'll see.
