Anybody around here watch the Anime?

I occasionally watch anime, but for the most part, I like the aesthetic more than the stories. I read more manga. Some in English, and some to help with my language learning. Actually, it's a fun way of doing that.

I think you could also point to most of the Studio Ghibli movies for a lesson on how to do it the right way. They strayed here or there a couple of times I think, but, for the most part, the Studio Ghibli films are beloved and, to my mind, rightfully so.

Before they founded Studio Ghibli, that animation team made a gorgeous adaptation of Anne of Green Gables (Akage no Anne, in Japanese) back in 1979. Really lovely series if anyone is a fan of the book and the Ghibli pastoral style.

Death Note is another good one I would put in there. None of that goofy stuff, almost exactly the opposite in fact. One Punch Man also comes to mind.

Death Note has been on my list but I've heard stories how the 'protagonist' (Technically the antagonist but the show frames him as the protag) is kind of an idiot for other reasons lol

OPM is also on my to do list. Saitama seems like such a mood and I'm curious about how he is in the show.

An idiot? Well, I am not sure that really detracts from any show, I am not even really sure how true that is. As we have already discussed there are much worse things they could be. I have not finished it so I cannot say too much, but, from what I have seen, his biggest fault is that he is easily corrupted, which, again, he could be far worse.
