I have always wanted a Subaru myself. I like being able to drive on tough terrain and not put chains in the snow, so I either want an Outback or a Forester.
Currently have a Volvo crossover for the all wheel drive but still kind of want the Subaru.

I bought my daughter a subaru. It was good till she let a friend drive it and he wrecked it beyond its value.

Well, I have two rules for parents :) Dont believe what the book says, and dont ever tell them what they are eating (or let anyone else do so...).

The book I was talking about was this one... This book caused a lot of extra bad that could have been avoided if you put it down and just observe the kid instead.

But nothing caused more damage in my house than one of my brothers thinking it was funny to say they were eating bambi. 25 years later, and it still goes on.

Yeah I heard that book wasn't great. I think someone gave us a copy when my wife was pregnant but I don't recall us ever looking in it.
I can imagine be told you're eating a loveable Disney character would not go over well with young kids.
So far I have found that just truly loving your child (the tough sort of love) and caring about them, and then sort of winging it from there has been going fairly well. Not to say I don't seek out some advice, I'm just very careful and selective on what advice I follow.

Well...you're two years in, so that book has already run its course, or never was.

For me, the kid would fuss, someone would go consult the book, and then try what it said. It never worked. How about, just watch the kid and see what they are fussing about.

Anyway...I still have a brother in law I have to tell to knock it off on occasion. He thinks its funny, it does not help, it just causes more problems.

Nuff of that...

I win.
