I'm pretty comfortable with facebook but Google+ seems a bit foreign to me. I have a Google+ page for my universe but, unlike facebook, I don't know how to generate traffic to it. Can anyone share a bit of their expertise?
The key, I've found, is to find other people who share you interests and interests relating to your purpose for being there (e.g. writing, fantasy, or whatever). Follow those people, comment on their posts, interact with their followers, and you will get a bunch of return people following you to see what you have to say. I have over 400 people following me on Google+ simply as a result of this.
Yes, it is better than FB, in my view. The reason is, Facebook is friends and family-based. It is all about keeping in touch with people you already know. Google+ is interest-based. It is about expanding your contacts among people who share similar interests. Of the people I interact with regularly on Google+, I only knew a small number of them prior to joining Google+.
