Lost troglodyte

Hi. I'm Dagin. I'm an uneducated Redneck-hillbilly-troglodyte. I enjoy fantasy stories through all mediums. Some of my favorite books are The Lord of The Rings, The Echoes of Fate by Philip C. Quaintrell, Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames, and many others such as series written by Richard A. Knaak and R.A. Salvator.

I have no formal education beyond high school and have worked construction/Factory and other labor jobs all my life. I don't know any other writers or authors in real life.
I somehow got this crazy idea to start writing my own saga/story. No way did I ever believe I would write a saga, I hated writing and literature as a kid and young man. But somehow thanks to friends and family got into reading, I found that I am really drawn to scify-fantasy. I have done a lot of pencil sketching and drawing all my life even got into digital art. As a hobby artist I found that my real life responsibilities (dang adulting) have really hindered my time for art. Well as all us creatives find out and hopefully come to accept. We cannot shut our creative brains up. So I found on my breaks at work or waiting to pick kids up at events I started writing my crazy story ideas down (Eek! Scary). Next thing I know I got over 16 chapters written ( How?) And now I find myself trying to figure out what the heck am I doing and where do I go from here.
So... um ya, Hi.

Welcome to Mythic Scribes! There's lots of people from all over to talk about writing.

If you'd like some recommendations for other authors to check out, here's some of my favourites:
Terry Pratchett [satirical British humour with puns, wordplay, and references galore; most well known for his sprawling Discworld series]
Ursula Le Guin [contemplative, introspective stories about humanity; most known for the six-book Earthsea series, The Left Hand of Darkness, and the Dispossessed]
Becky Chambers [sometimes called a successor to Ursula Le Guin with a focus on similar themes and great alien worldbuilding; most known for the Wayfarer quartet]
Diana Wynne Jones [delightful books that often have great warmth and fantastic plot twists; most well known for Howl's Moving Castle, but most of her books are fantastic]
Garth Nix [inventive magic systems, compelling characters, and sometimes completely bonkers premises that still make internal sense; most well known for the Old Kingdom trilogy]

Oh, and what might your saga be?
Hello thatoneguywho-:, Thanks for asking. I am completely new to this social online community thigh so bare with me. My saga is a rough Norse-inspired/Christian style fantasy. Leaning heavy into fantasy action adventure. Obvious a lot more to it but trying not to word vomit on you.
