Moons Book Cover

Maybe a pair of eyes somewhere?

I couldn't make eyes work so I've tried to add some scale by showing the whole fox in a super cute style to balance out the thriller elements a tad.

I did go through a ton of fantasy fonts a bunch of times but just really loved the paintbrush lookin' one. Do you think this slightly more fantasyish lookin' one is worth the swap?

The font on the right is the way to go. The fox does add a bit of vibe to it - in a fable kind of way. The sword on the left is also a nice touch.

The fox adds for sure... now I have no idea what your book is really about, but... give me a solid Japanese Myth vibe and you'd have my attention. This is that... light. Font on the right is way to go for sure.

The main country that the story revolves around is similar to Japan in terms of longitude, fashion, language and peoples’ physical appearance to a degree.

I’ve yet to do much research on Japanese myths but have left spaces to insert my own take at various low pace areas.

Any suggestions on where to look for inspiration?
