Here's a somewhat exotic web site that's gone into my bookmarks list.

Onomatopoeia Dictionary - Written Sound

It's a catalog of onomatopoeia, very handy for things like words that describe animal sounds (which is how I found it). To accompany, of course, be sure to find a corresponding YouTube clip of the actual animal making the actual sound.

As soon as I got to the five most common spellings of "argh", I knew this was going to be a great link.

Edit: Oh my god, and then I got to "badonkadonk". It's an onomatopoeia

As someone who has second to none experience with onomatopoeia in English, this will come in handy soon. Thank you!

Onomatopoeia is one of my favorite linguistic phenomenons. I just think it's so funny that someone was like, "Hey, we don't have a name for this sound! But it's such a distinctive sound that we don't even have to think of a name for it--we can call it what it sounds like!" The creative genius of humanity at its best. (And I say that in all sincerity.)
