What is your one gripe with grammar 'checker' tools?

Mine is a gripe I have with both Open Office and Microsoft Word, even google docs does it.

I'll write a sentence or dialogue, and for the whole sentence, the grammar will be 'correct'

But, because it only checks for 'errors' and not 'context' I get fussed at a lot by both of those lol

I have characters with names like 'Chimp' and 'Sticks.' Grammarly insists on 'the chimp' or 'the sticks.' Also, to Grammarly, 'Carter' is a proper name, not a profession.

I wouldn't know. Mine is turned rigorously off. I'm in drafting phase now so automatic gramar interference could only annoy me. I might turn it on for a single check ar a later stage.

I have like 90% of things turned off, but like the comma and such checker I have turned on.
Just cause I tend to mix those up a bit even when I consider the context of a full sentence.

As written, this looks like you typed a grammatically correct sentence into a word processor, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

I don't really have 'gripes' with these tools, since they are not yet as sophisticated as they need to be. But one thing that comes up in MS Word a lot: It suggests adding a comma after the word 'so' at the beginning of EVERY sentence it appears in. Which means it (incorrectly) marks a sentence like: So it seems.

I have a ton of weird names in my stories and adding them to the standard dictionary is annoying haha.

It tries to make me put commas after the word so a lot. And despite my best efforts to not trigger this, it seems to find a few lol.

This is exactly what I mean. Also sometimes it likes to correct it's and its even when I do them correctly, because it doesn't check the entire sentence.
