Inkling
Also known as Creepy Pastas. The most common one being a .exe variant.
Nowadays I find them too cheesy and campy (even my favorite one, like Ben Drowned) to get scared by them even a little.
Back when I was 15 or so and didn't know better though? Some of them 'got' me pretty dang good. Most Notably Ben Drowned (a pretty famous and well recommended one) and Soul Silver.
I think these days I'm desensitized to the cheesy shock horror writing style of these stories, now I just laugh at them.
Although my favorite form of these stories (Video game Creepy Stories) recently are ARG's (Augmented/Alternate Reality Games) that use Minecraft as the Vehicle for the story.
Some of them are SO good, but a lot of them are really bad, you can't help but chuckle.
Another new thing I've learned about is UN-fiction, fiction which makes documentery style videos on media that doesn't exist, usually with a horror theme.
