Be honest, how good at 'doing the deed' are your fictional characters?

Most of the time (at least when I'm writing younger characters) they're as inexperienced at porking as I am.
Older / More Mature characters are more experienced but it still gets black screened cause I ain about that scene. If my story can't stand on it's own without the sexy porking what am I really writing about?

I'd rather make my readers imagine what happened rather than actively write the scene so they can see it. For example in my RWBY fanfic. I have a girl who's basically poison ivy as a fox girl (she doesn't have a tail, just ears)

Sun: Last night was...interesting.
Ivy: Really? How so ?
Sun: I didn't know your vines could come out of, or go in, so many places!
Ivy: oh [blushing] I....maybe got a little carried away.
Sun: ya think?

This is ALL the context the reader will have for their ahem, porking scene.

I try to avoid characters having sex in my writing. It isn't part of what I want to tell.
I have a character that is more courtesan than anything else, but even there it is more to do with the people they know and the "dirt" they may have on them.
It makes for an interesting if precarious life for them.

Of course I'm writing the sex scenes as well, because it's a romance too and not just fantasy. Not every single one of course, because I'm not writing porn xD, but at least I'm gonna to include a few.

I also think people are hyper critical about sex even being written in.
There are other descriptions and scenes that don't move the main plot forward, from landscapes to slice of life scenes to calm down.
All these are important for the emotional plot tho and sex scenes are important for the emotional plot as well, especially in a romance. The emotional plot in there is a big part of the plot.

Also I'm writing from my protagonist's (and other characters') POV(s) and they are a 170 yo elf, sometimes bit too horny.
It would be really weird for them to leave out the part they were looking forward to since weeks or so. xD
That would give the impression they are too shy to describe what happened from their POV... which they are not. xD

Also I think it's always a nice change in a romance to have an experienced and very willing partner (mostly female, but in my case enby) to the male lead.

They have a female partner too, but they got seperated in book 1 because of circumstances and it takes a while.
But yes, there will a sapphuc sex scenes too. xD

I prefer to imply what happened over showing what happened, it's like a classic horror movie, the monster is only scary because you barely see it.
In most of my stories that include it, I go over the first few moments leading up to it, and fade to black. Even the ones where the sexyness would make sense to leave in. My Rom Com has two main characters who, once they get on the 'right foot' they would more than likely be doing it every other week, but it's never shown in story or mentioned in any way. It's just implied through dialogue.

I don't plan too many (if at all) 'sex' scenes in my stories, but I will not justify the reader's 'thirst' for character a and b to do the thing. If they desire it that much they can write fanfiction lol

Its not really a question that comes up.

I think this is not really a good question for the story. I have human relationships, and like the rest of humanity, some want all the experiments and toys, and others are less playful and more loving, and some are just less interested than others. How they all work it out is kind of up to them when the door is closed.

Since most of my characters where this would be part of the story are in long term relationships, I suspect they do a little bit of all of it over the course of time, and that's just really their business.

Some characters use sex for power, and I suppose they are more varied, but...they are not the happy ones.

Furries do sex better, even slash, in my opinion. There is the classic seduction of warriors and bards that always has me egging them on. A vast library of books about Greek gods do sex and violence together in a harmonious hedonism. Coming back to the issue of sex, there is a fine line to cross. I do not think it takes maturity or innocence to determine. I can imagine an orc to do it better than a dwarf or elf, and men to do it better than the later two, and elves to do it least, as it is a skill tester, not a battle of strength. The pure waters of a magical well can give sterility, a fine cup of meed sensuality.

I have not written a good sex scene apart from my dabbling in romantic interludes, where it is a sonorous affair based on a fictional setting. There does not come a time when violence mixes with sex, in my innocent approach. The fact of the matter, is a tribal setting may be different than an original work of fiction, and a Methodist approach maybe an evolution along the lines of a serious stoicism based on autonomy and perfection. The last rung on the ladder is the marriage in the sight of god, which is always a heartwrencher, if not breaker.

TBH I rarely include the scenes in the final story.
Me and a buddy joke about them when we're bouncing ideas off of eachother. (She loves to yes and me AND we both share the same brain cell on these matters, so you can imagine how silly it gets.) But when I actually write the story these scenes rarely make it into the actual product.

There's a few lines that imply 'oh yes, they absolutely did' but beyond that it's left to the reader's imagination. They will have to follow the paper trail if they want to decipher what goes down under the bed sheets.

The only time I feel these scenes make sense to be there is in a spy movie, and even that is mostly due to James Bond. I would prefer to live without them, but I also like to tease my readers with the potential. I think it was a thing in Spy Movies and Noires, but James Bond pretty much made it a staple.
