Lord of the Rings: War in the North

I recall hearing about this title a few months back, but haven't seen anything since. Have you guys heard much about it? Are there any trailers for it yet?

As far as I'm concerned there has never been a truly great Lord of the Rings video game. Battle for Middle Earth had some great moments, but didn't blow me away. Lord of the Rings Conquest had fun multiplayer, but the single player campaigns were sorely lacking.

Voilà! Here are some links to video that you might be interested in watching.

There are alot of videos on YouTube. Just type in "Lord of the Rings: War of the North". Personally, I'm growing sick and tired of the action and strategy games that don't really work well, and I'm looking forward to someone making an RPG, like Knights of the Old Republic or Dragon Age.

Thanks for digging these up, Sig.

While it looks action-packed, it isn't what I was hoping for. You raise an excellent point: why doesn't someone make a real Lord of the Rings RPG?

There is a Lord of the Rings MMORPG that is actually very faithful to the lore and mythology. Its currently free-to-play, but there's a cash shop that I haven't checked out since it was pay-to-play.

Can't say I had heard of War in the North. Though I am familiar with the strategy games.

And although I'm not really on-topic, BioWare(Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age, Knights of the Old Republic,...) is working on an MMORPG for Old Republic.

I know they are, believe me. My social life ends when Old Republic is finally launched.

And yes, I know that Lord of the Rings Online is available, but I meant something akin to Dragon Age or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in that it isn't online, but it has all the qualities of a roleplaying game. The ability to make choices that affect the world around you, and the power to interact with the world on a deeper level than other games.

EDIT: And after watching another video about War in the North, it's apparently going to be an Action RPG. You apparently get points for killing enemies, and you can build combinations up for more points to spend on customization for your character. It's a nice RPG quality, but not quite there yet.

I can't say I'm all that enthused about this game, from what footage I've seen. It looks to be just another generic RPG.
