New Power system

My friends and I made a power system inspired by Brandon Mull. Honestly, we need feedback or ideas on how to write a story around this. Here is the Link.

It kind of reminds me of Brandon Sanderson and his Mistborn. I like it, it's very detailed. My only questions are, what is the mystery? What is the secret that is hidden about the abilities, how can it be exploited or experimented on? What is left to discover about it that the government and/or people don't know? What will the protagonist attain from the adventure? What is the end goal?
