This project was intended to be a 2-3 person co-authorship, approached professionally, but enjoyably.
The aim was to collaboratively conduct market research, worldbuilding, outling, drafting, etc., so that every participant contributes ideas, shapes the project and becomes invested. So I started dabbling a bit in each area while searching for teammates, and quickly realized that writing a book is far easier/quicker than forming a writing team (finding people with shared vision, writing style, interests... Not married to their ideas & able to share creative control? Not easy). At this point it's likely best if I continue solo, and will do so, but it's not nearly as fulfilling; the journey feels lacking. So I'm keeping an eye out for potential collaborators. I currently have 9 books in mind for the series, and a lot of those are still flexible, but this first one is largely fixed.
The project: I'm working on the first book of a mystery/adventure/psychological fantasy series, inspired by books like Redwall, though with a darker more grounded tone. Feline characters; single POV; no magic; strong focus on atmosphere, tension, layered worldbuilding. I plan to hire a third party developmental editor, and illustrators. Aiming for tradpub while assuming a self-pub outcome.
If anyone is interested, drop me a message. Mention anything that might be relevant: existing hobbies, interests, favorite books/shows/genres, favorite things to write, strengths/weaknesses you encounter when writing, and so on.
