Have you written any of this yet? To me, it sounds unbelievably difficult to portray the perspective of a 5 year old in an interesting manner for any length of time.

Yes I have. It's handwritten write now, like I do all my work.
Well, it has been done and I think the filter of a grown man telling the story helps quite a bit. Since the man and boy are the same person it feels perfectly normal. I kept it short all the same and I am still considering making him seven for both scenes which is very different than five, though still very young.
