Short story workshop swap?

Not really looking for a group, but maybe one or two individuals, short term.

I will be submitting a short story to the Writers of the Future contest on the last day of this month (March), and I was wondering if someone wanted to exchange short stories for critique and workshopping.

The story I’m submitting has been submitted once before to this contest, but they allow stories to be re-submitted. Last time, I earned an ‘Honorable Mention’, which means it placed somewhere in the top 7% or so, and if I understand the process, that means I came out ahead of at least a couple thousand other entries.

My story is about 6400 words. I did a pretty major revision on it over the past couple of weeks or so, and I think it’s in decent shape. I’m having a friend look at it, but thought another set of eyes might help too.

Anyway, I would need the critique back about 4-5 days before the last day of the month to give me time to make changes.

I have no short stories of my own on the shelf at this particular moment, but I would be happy to read yours and score beta-reading credits for some later day. I wrote some critiques on the critique request forum here (I think including on one of yours if I'm not mistaken) so please judge for yourself if you think I can be helpful.

I'm relatively new here and haven't exchanged things outside of this forum before, but I suppose there's an option for you to dm me, right...?

Happy to swap short stories. Although I haven't published any yet, I've recently had a couple of near misses, and one story is currently on 2nd round hold with a publisher. So maybe I could help.

The story is long-ish, so it might be best to just get a couple of one-on-one exchanges rather than posting it in Critique Requests.

It looks like I may very well have two takers, and that's about all I need for now. This is more or less a side project for me while I prepare for my next phase of novel-writing...
